3 MINUTE READ ON ASSUMPTIONS, ARGUMENTS AND SELF-LOVE

Here is something to remind yourself, a quote that I loved and a question to ask yourself for this week…

Something to remind yourself…

For a long time I’ve loved Sara Al Madani thoughts and these words really resonated with me: I am soul with a human experience. This is a dress. If you don’t like my dress, that’s your problem, not mine. I am who I am. I’ve lost a lot of people, but it feels so good because now I only have people in my life that love me for who I am and for my authenticity. My priority right now is mental health. Friends? I went on like a diet. I cut out everyone bad. I went on a diet with like with the stuff I watch, the stuff I read, the stuff I listen to. Even if there are songs that I feel like they’re not good for me, I don’t listen to them. So, it’s like my mind is my priority. This tofu is not going to be marinated in shit anymore. So, remember this. The brain is like tofu. Whatever you marinated in, it becomes. So make sure you’re marinating it in something that’s tasty!”

I.

Here’s the thing—when you live authentically, it might scare a few people off. Good! It just means the ones who stay truly see and love the real you. I say, go on that ‘diet.’ Cut out the noise, the negativity, the people who drain you. Guard your mind: Be picky with what you let in—friends, social media, even music —whatever impacts your vibe. Just like a diet, be mindful of what you consume mentally and emotionally. Surround yourself with things that feed you, lift you, inspire you. At the end of the day, that’s how you stay grounded, confident, and honestly, it’s how you stay happy.

II.

Being real filters out the fakes. This is your reminder to live intentionally and unapologetically. When you’re truly yourself, some people will drop off—and that’s a win. The ones who love the real you will always stick around.

A quote that I loved…

A simple strategy that will save you so many headaches: don’t care about winning trivial arguments. Someone says something you don’t agree with? Smile, nod, and move on to more important things. Life is short. Not caring about having the last word will save you so much time.

– James Clear

A question to ask yourself…

Do I want to be loved more or do I actually first and foremost need to love myself more?

Have an amazing week!

Love,
Kelly
