Happy Life newsletter talking about the importance of boundaries and more

3 MINUTE READ ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF BOUNDARIES, THE VALUE OF HAVING THE RIGHT PEOPLE AROUND YOU AND A SIMPLE QUESTION TO STOP PLEASING.

As from now on, in my Happy Life Newsletter, I will share something to remind yourself, a quote from someone else that I loved and a question to ask yourself. The aim of my Happy Life Newsletter is to inspire you to stay true to yourself and live your best, most authentic life.

Something to remind yourself…

I stumbled upon a great video of Joel Tudman on TikTok in which he says: ‘When you set your standards or you set your boundaries, people are going to say: ‘Oh you think you’re all that?’ I am. And I don’t care. I am, and I don’t need you to make me feel like I am. I am going to set the standard’. Spot on. You should think you’re all that. Value yourself enough to set your own standards.

I.

If you don’t want people to cross your boundaries you should start setting them and communicating them. People don’t ‘know’ until you tell them. The fact that someone has a problem with you setting boundaries is mostly because they’ve benefitted of you not having them. Communicate them clearly and stand by them proudly.

II.

Boundaries are not made for ‘them’, they are made for YOU. Your safety, your peace, your sanity, your clarity, your comfort. Don’t make it about someone else. Others don’t have to agree with them because it isn’t about them.

A quote that I loved…

Your circle might be two or five people; just make sure they are the right people.

A question to ask yourself…

Do I do this because it makes me happy or do I do this to please someone else?

Have an amazing week!
